To Lord Irvine of Lairg

The Lord Chancellor 22nd April 2001

Dear Lord Lrvine.

Firstly let me introduce myself. I was the member of the public who was responsible for Sussex Police finding the knife used to murder Katrina Taylor in Brighton July 1996 and identifying the person who disposed of the knife.

I now act for the family of Katrina Taylor as the families Legal Campaign co-ordinator and media spokesman .

We formed the "Campaign Justice for Katrina" which is an internet based campaign. This came about for two reasons, one death threats were made and making complaints to Sussex Police was a complete waste of time as they lied and covered up every issue surrounding the murder of Katrina Taylor. The material they sent to the P C A was a complete fabrication of untruths.

The family and myself want an outside police force called in to investigate the "unsolved" murder of Katrina Taylor. We are now making this appeal to you as the extremely unusual circumstances before and after the murder of Katrina Taylor need thorough investigation as this is not a case of a police miscarriage of justice but more a case of the police actively covering up a murder. I will say that there are grave misgivings within the Sussex police area as th the integrity of Sussex police and members of the Sussex Police Authority. By way of emphasising this, the Jay Abatan murder where Essex police were called in to investigate. The report produced by Essex police was not pleasant reading concerning the efficiency of policing.

Next the shooting of Mr Ashley in Hastings - firstly Sussex police found themselves innocent of any blame, but yet again when an outside force was called in the situation has ended up with the Assistant Chief Constable being suspended along with other officers.

These two cases that I have quoted could reasonably be called unprofessional and extremely bad policing methods by Sussex police.

The case of the murder of Katrina Taylor. One thing that makes this murder unique is that over two hundred hours of audio tapes which start before and during the murder and covering events up to the first trial and to the retrial in 1999 and beyond. The basic content of these tapes are as follows:-

Katrina Taylor was killed on 5th July 1996 - this was the time that the Preddy Group case was before the Law Lords as will be shown to you later, Mark Slade of the Preddy Group was actively involved in events surrounding the murder of Katrina Taylor. Sussex police still actively call Mark Slade "Marcel Sulc". Why Sussex police would want to cover up crime by a major target criminal is beyond belief. At the time the Preddy Group were in the Law Lords, Mark Slade was actively running credit frauds. This is all on audio tape and has been completely covered up by Sussex police.

This letter could go on infinitum but we will bring it to a close with the following summary.

Sussex police actively perverted the course of justice, this could not have been the actions of only one or two officers as the only officer who could have started and actively assisted in this cover up (we have documents that show that the Chief Constable of Sussex, Paul Whitehouse was fully aware that crime was being covered up by his officers).

We are putting this complaint to you that the Chief Constable of Sussex, Paul Whitehouse was an accessory to the murder of Katrina Taylor and he perverted the course of justice by using false witnesses in the trial of Katrina Taylor's' killers.

We do not know what response we will receive from you over this correspondence and what actions you may undertake. We do not wish you to think that we are being discourteous in any way towards you but this letter is being placed on our internet site, the reason being for the protection against reprisals and more victimisation by Sussex police. Also enclosed is very important material for your perusal concerning Sussex police.

but in your position as Lord Chancellor you will be able to see my statements (if they still exist - as the police could not give me copies of these)

Yours sincerely

D.P.N.Neilson
